Course Description:
Students in this level can already understand elementary Chinese grammar and are able to communicate using Chinese in a wide range of situations of daily life. Classes are conducted entirely in spoken Chinese, and consist of a combination of practice, reading, discussion, dictation, composition and feedback, net exploration via the web, and presentation. Text materials introduced through lively narratives, basic lore of China 's culture, history, legend, geography, ethical values, modern transformation, etc.
Course Objectives:
a): Be able to converse on a variety of topics and express themselves fluently in social communications.
b): Know more than 2000 word vocabulary and use them freely.
c): Be able to read and write narrative and descriptive texts.
d): Be able to write composition on certain topics.
Course Activities:
Each class is a combination of the following:
1. A brief oral quiz at the beginning of each class.
2. Explanation of vocabulary, grammar structure and the text by the teacher.
3. Practice, reading, discussion, dictation, composition and feedback.
4. Improvisation combined with students' practical use.
