Start Level: Beginner level 1 to level 2

Course hour: 30 hrs + 30 hrs  

Course Description:
This course helps students who have not learned Chinese to develop basic skills in colloquial Chinese. Students in this level will begin with a concentration on pronunciation, tones, new words and grammar ， focus on basic listening, speaking, reading skills.

Course Objectives:
a): To build up a strong pronunciation foundation.
b): To have a grasp of around 560 new vocabularies.
c): To master the fundamental knowledge of the Chinese language
d): To develop basic Mandarin conversation ability in life.

Course Activities:
Each class is a combination of the following:
1. A brief review or quiz at the beginning of each class.
2. Explanation of vocabulary, grammar structure and the text by the teacher.
3. Reading practice, conducting dialogues based on fundamental sentence patterns and vocabulary.
4. Improvisation combined with students' practical use.
5. Oral practice or free talk based on a topic in Chinese
